LA Galaxy travel to take on the Columbus Crew | Weekly Schedule

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Aug. 11, 2014) – The LA Galaxy (9-4-7, 34 points) will travel to take on the Columbus Crew (6-8-9, 27 points) at Columbus Crew Stadium this Saturday, Aug. 16 at 4:30 p.m. PT live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes.

Bruce Arena’s side has lost just once in the past 12 matches and are currently tied for the fewest losses of any Major League Soccer with four total this season. In 20 matches, the Galaxy have only allowed 19 goals and have a +15 goal differential, both good enough for best in the League.

The Galaxy will face Columbus Crew for the first and only time this year. LA is 14-15-9 all-time against the Eastern Conference side, tallying a 3-6-5 record in matches played at Crew Stadium.

With a goal in the Galaxy’s 2-2 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes on Friday, LA Galaxy Homegrown Player Gyasi Zardes continues to be in strong form, having netted eight goals in the last nine games. With nine total goals this season, the Galaxy forward has already more than doubled his rookie year scoring total of four.
