LA Galaxy II draw with Richmond Kickers at StubHub Center

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Sep. 1, 2014) – LA Galaxy II (14-7-6, 48 points) earned a 1-1 draw against the Richmond Kickers Monday night at StubHub Center as Chandler Hoffman’s penalty in the first half was enough for a point on the night. Following the draw, LA Galaxy II remains in fourth place in USL PRO standings, just three points behind Richmond Kickers.

Los Dos took the lead just two minutes before the halftime after Jason Bli was illegally brought down in the penalty box by Richmond’s Matheu Hall. Hoffman stepped up to the spot and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner bringing the score to 1-0. With the goal, Hoffman has tallied 13 goals in USL PRO, good enough for the third most goals in USL PRO this year.

In the second half, Richmond leveled the game on the 68th minutes when William Yomby turned Shay Spitz’s corner into a goal with a powerful header from point blank range. The equalizer was the defender’s second goal of the season.

LA Galaxy II brought on Charlie Rugg and Travis Bowen on offense and created multiple opportunities late in the match, but Galaxy II couldn’t find the back of the net before the final whistle.

Curt Onalfo’s squad will play their final match of the USL PRO regular season when they travel to play Sacramento Republic FC Saturday, Sept. 6 at 8:00 p.m. PT at Cal Expo.
