LA Galaxy travel to take on FC Dallas on Sunday | Weekly Schedule

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Oct. 6, 2014) – The LA Galaxy (17-5-9, 60 points) will take on FC Dallas (14-11-6, 48 points) on the road at Toyota Stadium this Sunday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. PT live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. With three games remaining in the MLS Regular Season, the Galaxy are tied on points with Seattle in the Supporters’ Shield race, with Seattle currently holding the tiebreaker for most wins.

Bruce Arena’s side has lost just twice in the past 23 matches and is unbeaten in their past 10 games. The Galaxy have scored the most goals in MLS with 66 and have also allowed the fewest this year with 31, giving them an MLS best +35 goal differential. The Galaxy’s 66 goals this year are the second-highest output during a single season in the club history.

The Galaxy will face FC Dallas for the third time this year after winning the first two games, both played at home. The Galaxy are 31-20-11 against FC Dallas, scoring 111 goals in the previous 62 meetings. At Toyota Stadium, LA has compiled a 3-7-2 record in 12 matches.

With an assist in LA’s 3-0 victory over Toronto FC Saturday, forward Landon Donovan is now the all-time MLS leader in assists with 136. Donovan’s 19 assists this season lead all players in MLS and are a new career high. After scoring two more goals this weekend, forward Robbie Keane is third in MLS with 19 goals on the season in addition to his 14 assists, the second most in the League. With just one more assist, Keane will become just the third player in MLS history to record 15+ goals and assists in a single year.

With Keane, Donovan and forward Gyasi Zardes all scoring double-digit goals this year, it marks just the second time in club history the Galaxy have accomplished such a feat. Since 1998, only two other clubs have had three goal scorers with 10 or more goals in a single-season.
