CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy opened up their 2015 preseason campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Ventura County Fusion on Wednesday at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.

Forwards Robbie Keane and Edson Buddle scored as the Galaxy controlled much of the run of play against the Premier Development League side.  During the 90 minutes, the Galaxy used a total of 24 players.

“It’s a practice exercise,” said Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena. “It’s the first time that we’ve gone out this year and it’s good to allow the guys to play a little bit and work toward match fitness.”

Although the match was simply a practice, Galaxy midfielder Juninho admitted that he could not contain his excitement about being back on the field.

“I was laughing at the beginning of the game because it’s so nice to be back and see all the guys on the field again,” said Juninho. “It was very nice to be back and touch the ball again. These minutes are important for the preseason and we know that we have a lot to do.”
