LA Galaxy defeat Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 in preseason scrimmage

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy moved to 4-0-0 during the 2015 preseason with a 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders FC in a preseason rematch of the team’s epic 2014 Western Conference Championship series at StubHub Center.

The Galaxy drew first blood in the 18th minute when Stefan Ishizaki found Baggio Husidic who tapped it into back of the net ending a sequence that began with a clever pass from Robbie Keane. Seattle equalized less than 10 minutes later when a Marco Pappa shot curled under the outstretched hands of Brian Rowe.

The two sides rotated their rosters at halftime, but the Galaxy soon took the lead for good. In the 54th minute, Dan Gargan launched a ball into Alan Gordon who knocked the ball down to an onrushing Ignacio Maganto. Alone with plenty of space to operate, the Galaxy’s top draft pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft rifled a shot into the back of the net to give LA the victory.

LA will resume their preseason during their 11-day trip to Europe with a match against Hammarby on Feb. 16 at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm.
