Photo Gallery: LA Galaxy lose preseason finale to San Jose Earthquakes

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The LA Galaxy closed out the preseason with a 3-2 defeat to the San Jose Earthquakes in the soft opening of the new Avaya Stadium.


An Omar Gonzalez own goal in the 42nd minute gave the Earthquakes the lead, which they doubled in the off a goal from JJ Koval. The Galaxy pulled one back in the 66th minute when Jose Villarreal found the back of the net, but the Earthquakes quickly added a third with a goal from Adam Jahn two minutes later. Robbie Keane found the back of the net in the dying moments for the Galaxy, but LA could not find the equalizer.


The Galaxy wrap up the preseason with a 5-2-0 record. They’ll open up the 2015 MLS regular season on Friday when they take on the Chicago Fire at StubHub Center.
