Match Report: LA Galaxy II draw against OKC Energy FC at home, 1-1

CARSON, Calif. (Sunday, July 5, 2015) – LA Galaxy II (9-5-2, 29 points) earned a 1-1 draw against OKC Energy FC Sunday afternoon at StubHub Center behind a first-half goal from midfielder Andre Auras. The team is in action next on Saturday, July 11 when they travel north for a match against California rivals Sacramento Republic FC.

The visitors struck first on a goal from Danni Kronig in the sixth minute of play, who scored his 11th goal of the season. Kronig got on the end of a ball that slipped through the Galaxy defense and fired a shot inside the 18 with his left. Los Dos goalkeeper Clement Diop got a hand on it, but was unable to keep it out of the net.

Los Dos answered back in the 12th minute on a long-distance strike from Auras, his second of the season. LA Galaxy defender Todd Dunivant, who started the match at left back on loan from the Galaxy, played a ball to the Frenchman at the center of the field to set up the goal. From 25 yards out, Auras turned towards goal and fired a beautiful curling effort that flew into the top right of the net to level the score.

The Galaxy continued to pressure throughout the remainder of the game, but were unable to find the winner. Los Dos nearly found a second on several occasions on efforts from Bradford Jamieson IV, Raul Mendiola, Andre Auras and Daniel Steres, among others. The closest chance came from Jamieson IV, who fired a one-touch shot from outside the box that curled around the keeper and bounced off the crossbar.

The match featured four LA Galaxy players that saw action from on loan to the USL side, as Homegrown Players Bradford Jamieson IV, Jack McBean and Raul Mendiola suited up in addition to veteran Todd Dunivant.

Galaxy II are now unbeaten in 10 of their last 12 matches, earning nine wins in that span. The draw moved them to within one point of first in the Western Conference Standings.

Los Dos will travel north to Bonney Field for a match against rivals Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m. PT, which will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.
