Three Points: LA Galaxy pick up three points in Texas with 2-1 win over FC Dallas

FRISCO, Texas – LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano provides his Three Points from the Galaxy’s 2-1 win over FC Dallas.

ROBBIE KEANE POWERS LA TO VICTORY

Down a goal on the road, the LA Galaxy turned to their captain Robbie Keane to lead the way and deliver a victory in Frisco.

Trailing after a first-half goal by Michael Barrios, the LA Galaxy equalized in the 51st minute when Robbie Rogers found the head of Keane for the finish. Keane bagged his second of the evening just minutes later when Giovani dos Santos sprinted down the right side, and his initial effort deflected by a Dallas defender. Alone on goal, Dos Santos dished it to Keane for the easy finish on the goal line.

Once Keane gave LA the lead, the Galaxy defense was forced to hold firm to deliver LA their second consecutive road victory. Goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts came up big as he notched three saves in the second half to preserve the result.

LET’S TALK ABOUT KEANE FOR A MOMENT…

Robbie Keane once again showed why he’s one of the best players that Major League Soccer has ever seen yet again with his brace in the LA Galaxy’s 2-1 win over FC Dallas.

In his 100 MLS appearance, Robbie Keane added two goals to bring his career regular season tally with the LA Galaxy to 66 goals and 40 assists. Keane’s tally of 66 goals is the third highest tally of a player in their first 100 regular season games behind only Carlos Ruiz (67) and Roy Lassiter (71).

The reigning MLS MVP now has 13 goals on the season with 11 of the tallies coming in the Galaxy’s last eight matches.  If Keane can go on another scoring run who would be surprised to see him in the conversation for MLS MVP yet again?

BREAKING: LA GALAXY USE THE SAME LINEUP FOR TWO STRAIGHT GAMES

Bruce Arena may have finally found the starting XI that will get him through the stretch run.

For the first time in 2015, Arena trotted out the same lineup in consecutive matches. After a season where injuries an international call-ups left the Galaxy depleted, Arena was finally able to trot out his first choice squad two weeks in a row.

Throughout the victory over Dallas, the Galaxy’s quality was apparent but what the group needs now are games under their belt to establish chemistry ahead of the playoff push.
