Match Preview: LA Galaxy II travel to face Southern California rivals Orange County Blues FC

Carson, Calif. (Friday, Sept. 4, 2015) – LA Galaxy II (13-9-3, 42 pts.) will play in an away match at Anteater Stadium at UC Irvine against Orange County Blues FC this Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. PT. The match will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.


With just three games remaining in the USL Regular Season, Los Dos remain in second place in USL Western Conference standings with 42 points through 25 games. Following the match against OC Blues FC, LA Galaxy II will host Portland Timbers 2 at StubHub Center on Wednesday, Sept. 16 before traveling for a match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, Sept. 19 in their final two matches of the regular season.


OC Blues FC enter Saturday’s match with 39 points on the season, enough for fourth place in the Western Conference. They are led in goals by Christofer Ramirez and Didier Crettenand, who have both tallied seven times this season. In their most recent contest, Orange County defeated Portland Timbers FC 2 by a score of 3-1 at Anteater Stadium.


In their most recent contest, LA Galaxy II fell 2-1 to Arizona United SC on the road at Scottsdale StadiumSaturday night behind a last minute goal from the hosts. Forward Ariel Lassiter continues to lead the club in goals with nine on the season, while forward Jack McBean has added six goals and five assists in 23 games this year.


The match Saturday marks the fourth time the Southern California rivals will square off this season, withLos Dos earning a 2-0-1 record in the previous three matches.


Los Dos will have a chance to clinch a USL Playoff spot with a win this Saturday against their Southern California rivals. Following Saturday’s game, LA Galaxy II will play their final home match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at StubHub Center when they host Portland Timbers FC 2 at 7:30 p.m. PT.
