LA Galaxy II travel to face Sacramento Republic FC in 2015 USL Playoffs on Saturday

Carson, Calif. (Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015) – LA Galaxy II will begin play in the 2015 USL Playoffs when they travel north for a match at Bonney Field against in-state rival Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. PT. The match will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.
The winner of the Saturday’s match will advance to the conference semifinals for a match against Orange County Blues FC in the next round of the USL Playoffs.
The Galaxy will begin the 2015 USL Playoffs at Bonney Field, where the team was eliminated from last year’s Western Conference Championship by the eventual champions. Los Dos fell to Sacramento 3-2 last season, falling one game short of a USL Championship appearance.
This season, the Galaxy defeated Sacramento once in four contests played head to head, with Los Dos earning a dominant 4-0 victory on the road at Bonney Field behind goals from Jack McBean, Ariel Lassiter, Jaime Villarreal and Andre Auras in their most recent contest.
Under head coach Paul Buckle, the defending USL Champions finished in fourth place in the Western Conference with 46 points, going 13-8-7 this year. They are led by forward Rodrigo Lopez, who has scored 10 goals and added five assists on the season.
Los Dos snapped a three-game losing streak this weekend when they earned a 1-0 win on the road at Sand Creek Stadium over Colorado Switchbacks FC behind a first-half goal from Ariel Lassiter.
Curt Onalfo’s side finished the USL Regular Season in fifth place in Western Conference standings with a 14-11-3 record, just two points shy of first place. During the regular season, the team was led in goals by Ariel Lassiter with 11 on the season, with fellow forward Jack McBean adding an additional six goals and five assists this year.
