Robbie Keane announced his retirement from the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday and his LA Galaxy teammates past and present took to Instagram to honor the Irish legend.
Keane will play his final game for the Republic of Ireland in a friendly against Oman next Wednesday, wrapping up an 18-year international. One of Ireland’s all-time greats, Keane ends his career as the nation’s all-time leading goalscorer with 67 goals.
Shortly after Keane’s announcement, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard, both former England captains and Galaxy midfielders past and present, paid tribute to the Irishman.
