CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy’s young attacking talent is set to play a considerable role in new head coach Curt Onalfo’s plans for the 2017 campaign.

In 2017, the Galaxy will rely on the attacking prowess of Giovani dos Santos, Gyasi Zardes, Sebastian Lletget, and a host of others, but under Onalfo, some of the team’s younger talent will be given a chance to flourish. As Galaxy II head coach, Onalfo oft relied on the 23-year-old Jose Villarreal, a trio of 22-year-olds in Jack McBean, Raul Mendiola, and Ariel Lassiter, as well as the 20-year-old Bradford Jamieson IV.

Although the quintet has a combined total of 100 league appearances (56 of those belonging to Villarreal), Onalfo expects big things from his attackers.

“We’re younger than last year, but are we a team that’s too young? No way. We’re a team with enough veteran players who can help guide the way and show the way to be the extension of the coaching staff,” Onalfo told LA Galaxy Insider. “And what we have are players that have been part of our system that provides the depth of our team. Depth will get an opportunity. I feel great about where we are.”
