Vancouver Whitecaps FC make blockbuster trade ahead of LA Galaxy match | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Vancouver Whitecaps FC underwent a major shakeup just days before their match against the LA Galaxy this Saturday.

Vancouver dealt star midfielder Kekuta Manneh to Columbus Crew SC in exchange for Tony Tchani, $225,000 in Targeted Allocation Money, and $75,000 in General Allocation Money.

If Columbus re-sign Manneh after this season, the Whitecaps will receive Columbus' natural first round MLS SuperDraft selection in the immediately following draft. Vancouver will also retain a percentage of any future transfer fee if Manneh leaves MLS and will receive additional General Allocation Money if Manneh is traded by Columbus before December 31, 2018.

Tchani will be added to Vancouver's roster once his international transfer certificate and Canadian work permit are received. His status for Saturday's game is still a question mark. The central midfielder has not made an appearance in league play this season.
