CARSON, Calif. – Efrain Alvarez turned heads at the recent GA Cup.
The LA Galaxy Academy wunderkind shined during his time with the Galaxy U-16’s leading the way for the squad that earned several key victories including a win over German team Eintracht Frankfurt. After a successful tournament, Alvarez drew the attention of MLSsoccer.com who labeled the 14-year-old attacker as one of the top five talents from the competition.
"Alvarez was one of the youngest players at the GA Cup at just 14 years old, but there’s little doubt regarding his abilities. The left-footed playmaker was mostly deployed on the right wing, and he was a terror for all opposing defenders," MLSsoccer.com's Ben Baer wrote. "He was able to find teammates with chipped balls over the top of the defense, dropping them on a dime. He also beat any defender that was left alone on an island against him."
