Tickets for the LA Galaxy’s U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match with Sacramento Republic FC will go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. PT, the club announced today. The LA Galaxy are set to host USL side Sacramento Republic FC at 7:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, June 28 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium (Spectrum SportsNet). Tickets to the match will start at $10 for LA Galaxy Season Ticket Members and $20 for all other LA Galaxy fans.
LA drew Sacramento in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 draw on June 15. The Galaxy advanced from the U.S. Open Cup’s Fourth Round after a 3-1 win over USL side Orange County SC at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on June 14.
The June 28 fixture will be the first-ever competitive meeting between LA Galaxy and Sacramento Republic FC. Should the Galaxy advance, they’ll play away against the winner of San Jose Earthquakes vs. Seattle Sounders FC.
The Galaxy have recorded a 30-16-1 all-time record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They have entered the Open Cup every year since 1999, winning the tournament in 2001 and 2005 while reaching the Open Cup Final on two other occasions. Last year, the Galaxy fell to FC Dallas in the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for over 100 consecutive years dating from 1914. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
