Three things we learned from the LA Galaxy’s 3-1 win over Colorado Rapids | Presented by SNHU

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano provides his Three Things We Learned from the Galaxy’s 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids.

ROAD WARRIORS ONCE AGAIN

The LA Galaxy once again proved why they’re Major League Soccer’s best road team on Wednesday night.

Despite making multiple changes to their roster, a youth-laden Galaxy squad earned a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids. Once more, Curt Onalfo’s squad’s grit won the day as Los Angeles picked up the win despite losing the possession battle 56-43 and getting out shot 19-14.

Los Angeles is now 5-2-1 away from Stub Hub Center. The victory allowed the Galaxy to surpass their road win total of the previous two seasons.

JACK MCBEAN RETURNS TO THE SCORESHEET WITH BRACE

Jack McBean found the scoresheet for the first time in four years

Making his fourth start of the year, McBean opened the scoring with a long-range blast to give the Galaxy an early first half goal. The goal was his first since March 2013 when he scored in a 1-1 draw with Chivas USA. The striker was phenomenal throughout the match as he held up play and won several aerial battles to keep Los Angeles in the game.

As good as his opener was, he saved his best for last when he backheeled a JoĂŁo Pedro cross past Tim Howard for the game-winner.

LA GALAXY EXTEND THE UNBEATEN RUN TO EIGHT

The unbeaten run continued for Curt Onalfo’s LA Galaxy squad.

Following their 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids, the Galaxy are now unbeaten in eight matches with their last defeat coming way back in mid-April. Los Angeles find themselves in fifth place in the Western Conference with their early season struggles in the rearview mirror.

Los Angeles face a short turnaround with a match on Saturday at home against Sporting Kansas City. With the Galaxy hitting their stride away from home, a win at StubHub Center could be massive for the team’s confidence.
