LA Galaxy prepare to host New York City FC | Weekly Schedule

LOS ANGELES (Monday, Aug. 7, 2017) –
LA Galaxy (6-11-5, 23 points) enter a full week of training ahead of their Saturday showdown with New York City FC (12-7-4, 40 points) on Aug. 12 at StubHub Center (8 p.m. PT, ESPN2).

Two of MLS’ biggest franchises square off when reigning MVP David Villa and NYCFC come to Los Angeles this weekend. The visit will mark their second-ever match at StubHub Center. Last time in town, the Galaxy demolished NYCFC 5-1, with a brace from Robbie Keane bolstered by goals from Giovani dos Santos, Sebastian Lletget and Gyasi Zardes. The Galaxy are 1-6-4 at home this season, NYCFC are 4-6-1 on the road.
After a loss in Portland over the weekend, LA will look to rebound with a win at home, as they attempt to stage a playoff push with 12 games left on the 2017 schedule. As the table stands, LA are nine points out of playoff position, with San Jose Earthquakes in 6

Newly signed designated player
Jonathan dos Santos made his debut
for LA Galaxy on Sunday, going 26 minutes in his first outing. After receiving his P-1 Visa and ITC Certificate last Friday, dos Santos will enter his first full week of training before what could be his first MLS start on Saturday against NYCFC.
