LA Galaxy head east for Wednesday Columbus match before Sunday's Cali Clasico | Weekly Schedule

LA Galaxy (6-12-5, 23 points) will play two games in five days after taking their first bye week since June: Wednesday, Aug. 23 against Columbus Crew SC (11-12-3, 36 points) at MAPFRE Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT, Spectrum SportsNet, Spectrum Deportes) and the Cali Clásico on Sunday, Aug. 27 vs. San Jose Earthquakes (9-10-6, 33 points) at StubHub Center (4 p.m. PT, Fox Sports 1, Fox Deportes).


The match will be followed by another Cali Clásico, when LA Galaxy Special Olympics Unified takes on San Jose Earthquakes Special Olympics Unified at StubHub Center, 30 minutes after the conclusion of LA Galaxy vs. San Jose Earthquakes.


2017 MLS Regular Season: LA Galaxy vs. Columbus Crew SC

With 11 games left, LA Galaxy – MLS Western Conference’s best road team (5-5-1) in 2017 – travel to Columbus in search of another away result. Columbus is 8-3-1 at home in 2017, and remains in the thick of the chase for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.


Crew SC is 1-3-1 in their last five matches and will also be participating in two matches this week, facing Dallas on Saturday at home.


The Galaxy are 15-16-10 all-time against Crew SC, going 4-9-6 in road games against the side. LA are 2-1-2 in their last five trips to Columbus.


2017 MLS Regular Season: LA Galaxy vs. San Jose Earthquakes

LA Galaxy are 30-21-14 all-time against San Jose Earthquakes, going 10-5-6 at games in Los Angeles. LA are unbeaten in the last six editions of Cali Clásico at StubHub Center, going 3-0-3 since 2013. This season, the Earthquakes are 2-9-1 on the road.


LA are 1-0-1 in MLS play against San Jose this season, brining all eyes to the season’s final showdown. The Galaxy earned a 4-2 win over the Earthquakes on May 27 at Avaya Stadium, before falling 2-1 at Stanford Stadium on July 1.


At the beginning of the week, San Jose sat 7th in the Western Conference standings with 33 points. 


2017 Special Olympics Unified Season: LA Galaxy Unified vs. San Jose Earthquakes Unified

MLS Special Olympics All-Stars Giovanni Martinez, Jose Conde and LA Galaxy SOSC Unified will take the field at 6:30 p.m. PT, just over 30 minutes after MLS All-Star Giovani dos Santos and the LA Galaxy finish StubHub Center’s first Cali Clásico of the season.


So far, LA Galaxy SOSC have put together an undefeated season, collecting a 5-2 win over San Jose Earthquakes SONC on May 27 and following that up with an 11-3 win over Portland Timbers on Aug. 6.


Entry to the match is free, with doors opening at 6 p.m. PT.
