LA Galaxy Postgame Quote Sheet: LA Galaxy II 1, Rio Grande Valley FC 0 | September 3, 2017

LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ

On getting the shutout win at home:
“I think the past month and a half, for the most part, we’ve been in a good moment. One of our strengths has been being tough to play against and we wanted to get back to that tonight. I think we defended a little more than we wanted to in the second half, we were deeper in our half. But credit to our guys for getting the shutout.”

On what Ariel Lassiter brings to the table for Los Dos:
“Ari’s approach every time he comes down for us is a true professional. He just wants to play and he wants to score and he was to be a difference maker and you can just see that in the type of goals he’s scored with us. They’re some great goals. A guy like that at our disposal is a real weapon.”

On the team’s mindset with two more home games in six days:
“Reno is going to be tough. We know what happened last time and we have to rectify that and the guys will have that on the back of their minds and they’ll want to prove a point. That’s all we’re going to focus on right now. We’re not going to worry about San Antonio. The most important thing is that we’re going to recover in the next 48 hours. We have no idea what our team is going to be or what our team is going to look like, but we’ll be prepared.”

LA GALAXY FORWARD ARIEL LASSITER

On getting three points at home:
“It’s huge. We definitely want to come out and get a shutout and most importantly the win. I think everybody put in a really hard effort. Some things can be cleaned up, but we’ll go back and work on it. The ultimate goal was to come out here and work on it and that’s what we did.”

On his golazo:
“Raul Mendiola saw me and played a good ball to me. I felt good all week through training and so I just thought “Why not?”, took a crack at it and it went top corner.”
