Postgame Quote Sheet: Mike Muñoz and Ethan Zubak discuss the 1-1 home draw

LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ
On the team’s gameplan going into the match:

“I thought the guys executed the gameplan like we set out to do. We wanted to be defensively hard to play against. We wanted to keep their forwards guessing. Whether we were going to step or we were going to drop. I think we did a good job, especially in the first half of eliminating those chances. And then we wanted to catch them on the counter and on the break, like we’ve been so dangerous before. We had two or three real clear cut breakaways that we just weren’t able to put away but credit to the guys because I think they did a real excellent job today.”

On the goal they conceded late:
“San Antonio is a top team. I think they’re second in the league. They’ve lost two games all year. You have to execute and be switched on for every play for 90 minutes and we shut off and made one mistake on the free kick and we got buried. We talked about it at halftime, being perfect. We were almost perfect.”

On the team’s mentality going on the road for the next few:
“The road has been nice to us. We love traveling on the road. I look forward to Sacramento and the California Derby. It’s a great environment and we look forward to continuing to upset teams at their house.”

LA GALAXY FORWARD ETHAN ZUBAK
On the team’s strategy coming into the match:

“It was to execute a similar gameplan to the one we had against Reno. We lost that game, but we had played an overall good game. So we came out with the same intensity because we knew we could create the same chances. I thought we dominated the game and I thought we easily could have come out with a win. We just needed to execute better with some of the circumstances, but I thought we had a good plan and we executed it.”

On the team’s approach for the season’s final matches:

“Just take it one game at a time, because like it is, we really can’t afford to lose any more points on the year. We have to take it one game at a time and get three points from every game because at this point in the year every game is crucial to win.”
