LA Galaxy Academy product Ulysses Llanez named as alternate for U-17 World Cup | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy Academy product Ulysses Llanez was named as an alternate to John Hackworth’s U.S. U-17 World Cup squad.

Llanez was named as the sole alternate on Hackworth’s 21-player roster for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. The team departs for a training camp in Dubai for the tournament runs from Oct. 6 to Oct. 28.  

The United States was drawn into Group A and will open the competition against India on Oct. 6 at 7:30 a.m. PT), followed by games against Ghana on Oct. 9 (4:30 a.m. PT) and finally Colombia on Oct. 12 (7:30 a.m. PT).

Llanez will travel with the team with Dubai and be ready to potentially step into the roster in case of injury up to 24 hours before kickoff against the team’s opener against India.
