LA Galaxy (8-17-8, 32 points) will finish the 2017 MLS Regular Season this week when they travel to face FC Dallas (10-10-13, 43 points) at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
The Galaxy begin and end the 2017 season against FC Dallas, looking to avenge their 2-1 loss on opening day at StubHub Center back on March 4. In that opening day match, an equalizing Giovani dos Santos penalty take was undone by a Kellyn Acosta goal. All-time, the Galaxy are 33-24-12 against FC Dallas, and 9-18-7 against them in road contests.
There’s a lot on the line for Dallas, as they’ll need a result if they want a chance to make the 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs. Ahead of the final weekend, they are tied in points with San Jose Earthquakes (12-14-7, 43 points), but trail by two in the first tiebreaker: home wins.
LA Galaxy II (8-19-5, 29 points) finished their season in Salt Lake City over the weekend, suffering a 2-1 loss to Real Monarchs SLC, the 2017 USL Supporters’ Shield champions. Los Dos will not qualify for the playoffs, breaking a streak of three consecutive appearances since their inception in 2014.
