LA Galaxy ready for rest in season's first bye week | Weekly Schedule

The LA Galaxy (1-0-1, 3 points) have 12 days of rest ahead of their next match, as the team enters the first bye week of the season. The LA Galaxy will return to action when they take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2-0-0, 6 points) on Saturday, March 24 (7 p.m. PT, Spectrum SportsNet, Spectrum Deportes).

All-time, LA are 9-5-4 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. LA dropped both games against Vancouver last season, most recently suffering a 1-0 defeat to Vancouver on July 19, 2017 at StubHub Center. In last year’s contest at BC Place, on April 1, Romain Alessandrini recorded his first MLS goal.

Over the weekend, the LA Galaxy fell 2-1 to New York City FC (2-0-0, 6 points) at Yankee Stadium. Jonathan dos Santos scored the Galaxy’s lone goal in the match, as Sebastian Lletget made his first start for the Galaxy since March 18, 2017. The bye week will provide Galaxy with some well-needed rest, as Romain Alessandrini and Chris Pontius missed LA’s fixture against NYCFC with injury. Additionally, Giovani dos Santos and Michael Ciani were forced to exit Sunday’s game after picking up injuries in the first half.

LA Galaxy will next return home to face LAFC on Saturday, March 31 at 12 p.m. PT (FOX). Tickets to the match are available for purchase here.
