Giovani dos Santos starting to heat up as he scores his second in two matches

If there is any silver lining for the slumping LA Galaxy right now, it’s that Giovani dos Santos is finding his form.

The LA Galaxy’s Mexican striker notched his second goal in as many games on Saturday during the team’s 3-2 defeat to the Houston Dynamo. The 27-year-old went 90 minutes, once again playing in an advanced role in Sigi Schmid’s 4-3-3 formation.

Dos Santos notched the equalizer in the 37th minute when he was able to clean up a Zlatan Ibrahimović shot at the far post.

The talented forward also provided an assist after Ibrahimović provided an other-worldly outlet pass to the Mexican on the left side. From there, he fed Ola Kamara for the Galaxy’s second goal of the evening. Kamara's goal was also his second in two matches for the talented forward.

Dos Santos surge comes at the right time both for the striker and his team as the 28-year-old is eager to remain in the conversation for a place on the Mexican national team for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.

If he can keep up his blistering form in the weeks to come, there’s no reason to believe that Giovani won’t be on his way to Russia.
