Confidence high after the LA Galaxy earn second straight win: "Just hope for them we don't make it to the playoffs"

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy believe that a postseason berth is within their grasp after yet another 3-0 victory on StubHub Center.

This time it was Vancouver Whitecaps FC on the receiving end as Los Angeles earned their second victory in as many weeks on Saturday night. Zlatan Ibrahimović notched a brace, and Romain Alessandrini added a goal to put the Galaxy just one point out of a playoff berth.

With the team looking revitalized, the question is, just what sparked this sudden resurgence.

"The club changed coach, they wanted a reaction, and I think they got a reaction," Ibrahimović said. "First game (under Dominic Kinnear) I think we did good but got sloppy and we lost. The second game (last week) we won comfortable 3-0, today we won 3-0, and we're doing it good.

"We're not doing it by luck or complicating. I said it last time we're a threat for every team if we play like this. I bet you whatever you want, nobody wants to get us in the playoffs because we are dangerous if we do what we do like we do it now.”

The Galaxy will return to action on Saturday when they take on Sporting KC in their first of two consecutive road matches. With the team flourishing and the postseason within reach, it's clear that a sense of belief has been instilled in the Galaxy locker room.

"Just hope for them we don't make it to the playoffs," Ibrahimovic said.
