On Monday, MLS released the 2019 regular season schedule allowing fans to fill their calendars with the biggest dates of the year. As we look ahead to the 2019 regular season, here are my top five most exciting home matches at Dignity Health Sports Park.
MARCH 2 vs. Chicago Fire
The Guillermo Barros Schelotto officially begins on March 2nd when the LA Galaxy host Chicago.
After a full preseason of work, the Galaxy faithful will be waiting with bated breath to see what a Schelotto coached team looks like.
Given his coaching experience in Argentina, you can expect an attack-minded side that should challenge last season’s impressive output.
APRIL 19 vs. Houston Dynamo
No LA Galaxy fan will ever forget what happened the last time the two teams met at Dignity Health Sports Park, making April’s match up with Houston extra exciting.
No, a win against the Dynamo won’t make up for the Galaxy missing the postseason a year ago, but it will be a healthy boost for Guillermo Barros Schelotto to put the ghosts of 2018 away for good.
JULY 12 vs. San Jose Earthquakes
The first and only California Clásico match at home this season will be one to watch for a multitude of reasons.
In addition to the always contentious action on the field, the Galaxy will be able to test themselves against a new-look Quakes side under new head coach Matias Almeyda.
Almeyda even has a connection to Schelotto having played with River Plate against Schelotto's Boca.
JULY 19 vs. LAFC
You don’t need me to tell you why this game will be fun to watch, but just in case you need a reminder, here’s a video to the first meeting of the two sides last year.

SEPT 29 vs. VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC
The Galaxy will close their home slate against Vancouver in a match that has been pretty exciting in recent years.
Given that the Galaxy missed the postseason by the slimmest of margins a year ago, all eyes will be on their final home game as they look to hopefully put themselves back in the postseason for the first time since 2017.
