LA Galaxy eMLS Player Giuseppe Guastella called up to United States eNational Team for the eNations Cup

LOS ANGELES (Friday, April 12, 2019) – The LA Galaxy announced today that eMLS player Giuseppe Guastella (GGGodfather) has been called up to represent the United States eNational Team in the FIFA eNations Cup on April 13-14 in London. Guastella’s call up marks the first-ever player to represent the U.S. eNational Team (USeNT) in history during the tournament.

As a part of the eNations Cup, twenty of the top eNational Teams will compete in the invite-only exhibition on the Road to the FIFA eWorld CupTM 2019. Guastella and the USeNT will play in a Group B alongside Spain, Mexico, New Zealand and China.

Guastella, ranked 59 in the world, earns the call up after becoming the eMLS Cup Western Conference Championship last month. He will join Philadelphia Union eMLS Player Cormac Dooley (Doolsta). Five players with at least two previous Grand Final appearances are on the entry list for the tournament. They are some of the most consistent performers of recent years and have each qualified for the FIFA eWorld Cup on two occasions (Five previous participations: ‘GGGodfather’; two previous participations: ‘MegaBit’, ‘MoAuba’, ‘BorasLegend’ and ‘Dani’).

Group stage ‘Matches’ consist of three separate games. The first two games are individual contests on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, while the third game is a team match where both squad members pair up. Three points are awarded for a win and one for a draw, meaning nine points are up for grabs. For the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals, matches comprise two individual contests with the same points system in place. If teams are level after two games, then a team competition decides the tie.

At stake is a prize fund of $100,000 and 1,500 ranking points for players in the race to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup.

The EA SPORTS FIFA 19TM Global Series Playoffs this June will welcome the top 60 players on the PlayStation 4 and the top 60 players on the Xbox One leaderboards. This will be the players’ last chance to earn EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series Points to grant them qualification to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019, where the winner will be crowned the undisputed FIFA 19 World Champion.
