The LA Galaxy Foundation celebrated the fourth annual LA Fleet Week by hosting 50 United States Sea Service members for a soccer-filled experience at Dignity Health Sports Park on August 28th

LA Fleet Week provides a unique experience to recognize and honor the service of United States Sea Service members. The public is encouraged to participate in various events based at the Port of Los Angeles and around the Los Angeles area. Angelinos can also tour various ships and display their gratitude throughout the Labor Day weekend.

Members from the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy arrived Wednesday morning, immediately taking to the field to participate in a soccer clinic led by LA Galaxy Camps and Clinics coaches. After 60-minutes of drills, skill work and a friendly scrimmage, the group bused over to a neighboring field to get a front row seat for an LA Galaxy team training session.

Servicemen and women enjoyed watching LA Galaxy first team players including Jonathan dos Santos, David Bingham and Sebastian Lletget practice on the pitch. After training, the first team thanked the service members and posed for a group picture.

LA Galaxy staff members then volunteered to give a behind-the-scenes tour of Dignity Health Sports park and escorted the group to the American Express Stadium Club for a meal and a brief Q&A given by LA Galaxy President Chris Klein.
