LA Galaxy face double-game week with matches vs. Colorado and Sporting KC | Weekly Schedule

LOS ANGELES (Monday, Sept. 9, 2019) – The LA Galaxy (13-12-3, 42 points) return to MLS Regular Season play this weekend, with two matchups scheduled against Western Conference opponents. Midweek, the Galaxy will face Colorado Rapids (9-14-6, 33 points) at 6 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (Spectrum SportsNet). This weekend, LA Galaxy will be back at home to take on Sporting KC (10-12-7, 37 points) at 7 p.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Dignity Health Sports Park (FS1).

All-time, the LA Galaxy are 37-27-11 against the Colorado Rapids, with a 13-19-5 record against the Rapids on the road. The two sides met once this year, with the Rapids earning a 1-0 win over the Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on May 19.

The Galaxy did defeat this weekend’s opponent, Sporting KC, earlier this season. On May 29 in Kansas City, Favio Alvarez’s first goal for the Galaxy and a penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimović helped the Galaxy earn a 2-0 win on the road. The Galaxy are 25-23-15 all-time against Sporting KC, going 16-7-7 in competitions at home.

Heading into the week, the LA Galaxy are 8th in the MLS Western Conference standings, one spot out of MLS Cup Playoffs. Just three points separate spots three through eight.
