The Colorado Rapids have opened the Robin Fraser era with back-to-back wins against teams in a playoff position and they will look for a third in a row when they host an LA Galaxy squad currently one point below the line in the Western Conference.

The Rapids (9-14-6) made it matching 2-0 victories under Fraser, beating the shorthanded Seattle Sounders at Dick's Sporting Goods Park Saturday. Andre Shinyashiki scored a goal in each half, smashing in a Jonathan Lewis cross first time in the 41st minute and tapping in a Keegan Rosenberry service for a 70th-minute insurance tally.

The Galaxy (13-12-3) are winless in their last three, including a wild 4-3 loss to the Sounders at CenturyLink Field Sept. 1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Uriel Antuna canceled out goals by Raul Ruidiaz and Cristian Roldan and Jorgen Skjelvik leveled again after Jordan Morris' 77th-minute goal. But Roldan had his brace one minute from full time to secure all three points for the Sounders.

This is the second meeting this season with the Rapids stunning the Galaxy, 1-0, at Dignity Health Sports Complex May 19. Shinyashiki scored the lone goal in Colorado's first win of the campaign.
