LOS ANGELES (Monday, Oct. 1, 2018) – The LA Galaxy (12-11-8, 44 points) will take their two-game win streak to Kansas City this weekend to face Sporting KC (15-8-7, 52 points) on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Children’s Mercy Park. The match will be broadcast live on Spectrum SportsNet.
With three games left in the 2018 MLS Regular Season, the LA Galaxy sit in 7th place in the Western Conference standings. The Galaxy are two points out of a playoff place, with Real Salt Lake currently holding the sixth spot with 46 points.
The Galaxy climbed to 7th in the standings after a 3-0 win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC over the weekend. Zlatan Ibrahimović recorded a brace in the match, and Romain Alessandrini capped the win with a penalty kick conversion late in the second half. The Galaxy earned a second straight shutout in the match, something they’ve only done once this season.
LA Galaxy will enter international break following this weekend’s matchup. They’ll finish the season on the road to Minnesota United FC on Oct. 21 followed by a home finale against Houston Dynamo on Oct. 29.
