Super Bowl XLVI: Patriots or Giants?

patriots-giants

The last time the NFL’s New England Patriots and New York Giants met on the gridiron, Galaxy players and coaches had other things on their mind. That game was played on November 6, the same day that the Galaxy would face, and eventually defeat, Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference Championship.

But with a day off this Sunday, most players have already committed themselves to an afternoon and evening in front of the TV for Super Bowl XLVI from Indianapolis. They will be just a small number of the more than a billion people worldwide that will be watching Sunday’s showdown to see if Tom Brady and Bill Belichick can win a fourth Super Bowl or if Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin will claim a second championship in four years.

We caught up with a few of the guys to get their predictions for the big game. Here is what they had to say…

PLAYER                       RESULT

Chad Barrett               Giants 34-24
The Giants are playing the best defense in the playoffs and will cause Brady to throw two picks while the Pats D is struggling and won’t be able to stop Eli.

Brian Perk                   Giants 21-20
It’ll be close, but the Giants will be able to put too much pressure on Brady.

Dustin McCarty          Giants 20-14
The Giants defense can hold the Patriots to a low scoring game.

Nick Noble                  Giants 31-27
They’re the hot team right now.

Sean Franklin              Patriots 31-24
My ex-girlfriend is a Giants fan so I don’t want them to win.

A.J. DeLaGarza          Giants 27-24
It’s all about how you’re doing come playoff time and they’re clicking right now.
