CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told reporters a week ago that left back Todd Dunivant will be back on the training pitch this week, but whether or not that will happen still remains to be seen.
Dunivant has been sidelined with an abdominal injury since LA's 3-0 victory over Chivas USA as A.J. DeLaGarza has filled in for the veteran along the left side of defense. With yet another week off for the Galaxy until they return to action on May 3 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park against the Colorado Rapids, Arena expects the extra rest to help Dunivant move forward in his recovery, but gave no assurances that the defender will be back soon.
"Anyone that's injured, you get more time to get better," said Arena. "I don't know yet though [about Dunivant's status]."
