CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos has enjoyed a banner start to his LA Galaxy career but the Mexican international believes that he’s still got plenty to show the fans at StubHub Center.

The 26-year-old Mexican forward scored a goal and tallied two assists in the Galaxy’s 5-1 victory over New York City FC on Sunday. The match was his first full 90 minute shift for LA in league play and only his second in all competitions.

Including Sunday’s win, Dos Santos has tallied three goals and five assists in five appearances for the club in all competitions.

“Better, it’s getting better. I feel fit, and I’m happy for the confidence the coaches give me. I hope to keep working hard and help the team,” said Dos Santos. “I’m getting better. I know my teammates better every single day. I’m working hard every day so I think we are having fun every single game and that is good for the team.”

Ever the humble player, Dos Santos lauded his teammates for helping him succeed so quickly.

“I think we have very good players. We are playing very good,” he said. “We have very good midfielders and also [Robbie] Keane is playing very good, Gyasi [Zardes] as well, Sebastian [Lletget] as well. We are doing good things up front.”
