Bruce Arena sounds off after LA Galaxy fall to San Jose Earthquakes | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena addressed reporters after the Galaxy fell 1-0 to the San Jose Earthquakes.

(On what he was told about the red card…)

ARENA: “They didn’t tell us anything. I think the entire officiating crew didn’t do a good job. I don’t even know if it was a foul. He’s not the last player because Omar is there. It was just a bad piece of officiating.”

(On the AR possibility disagreeing with the head ref…)

ARENA: “Maybe. If you give a yellow card then I’m going to maybe say okay. I don’t think it was even a yellow card though. Just a bad piece of officiating.”

(On the game being frustrating….)

ARENA: “We deserved to lose the game with the way that we played. We played a crappy first half. We played better with 10 players than we did with 11 and obviously, if you’re playing with 10 playesr for 43 minutes or so, you’re not putting yourself in a good position. That’s life. If there is any group of officials that get together and show stuff then that’s a classic example of poor officiating that they could use and hopefully learn from it. They ruined the game, I think.”

(On Wynne getting forward…)

“He’s a right back, he goes forward. We did an awful job on the goal so give them credit but we caught sleeping with Zardes on the back post and Gonzalez in front of the goal. That’s our responsibility so give them credit for making a good play.”

(On another early goal…)

ARENA: “Don’t worry about that but we put ourselves in a difficult position to try and get a point out of the game or win the game.”

(On the passing…)

ARENA: “We played a very good second half under the circumstances but for some reason, we shut off 10 minutes into that first half.”
