Winning aerial battles key to stopping Didier Drogba says LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Given his size, strength, and goal tally, it's pretty oblivious that Montreal Impact Didier Drogba will be a source of danger for the LA Galaxy on Saturday.

However, Galaxy captain Robbie Keane believes that neutralizing one element of Drogba's game may be key to stopping the former Chelsea legend.

Midfielder Steven Gerrard warned the LA Galaxy defenders that they'll be in for a physical battle when they take on Didier Drogba and the Montreal Impact on Saturday, but Keane took the warning a step forward stating that the defense must handle the Frenchman's aerial threat, if the Galaxy are to earn three points.

"If you look at the aerial battles, you look at [Omar Gonzalez] who’s very good in the air," Keane said. "I’m sure there are going to be some interesting battles. He’s very, very strong and can score goals, which he’s done throughout his career."

Defender A.J. DeLaGarza agreed that LA will need to be mindful of the Ivorian striker, no matter where he is on the pitch.

"One of the world’s best strikers," DeLaGarza said. "We have to around him in front of the goal, that’s all we can do. When you have space in the box you can score a hat trick in your first start."
