The LA Galaxy may be close to adding another former England international to the ranks according to a report in ESPN FC.

ESPN FC's Jeffrey Carlisle reported on Wednesday that the Galaxy are currently in talks with AS Roma defender Ashley Cole according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations. According to Carlisle's source, the Galaxy have offered the outside back a non-Designated Player contract.

Cole's two-year contract with the Italian club expires in June and according to reports in Italy, the team may release the defender out of his deal six months early. The 35-year-old has made just 14 appearances for the club since leaving England in 2014.

Despite his struggles in Italy, Cole has enjoyed an illustrious career that included eight seasons at Arsenal where the defender won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups. Cole later moved on to London rivals Chelsea, winning another Premier League title, four FA Cups, a League Cup as well as a UEFA Champions League medal and a UEFA Europea League title. The defender also enjoyed an accomplished career with England's national team, appearing in three World Cups while making 107 appearances.
