This is how Galaxy captain Robbie Keane voted for the Ballon d'Or | INSIDER

LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane was among the hundreds of national team captains that cast their ballot for the 2015 FIFA Ballon d'Or, which honors the world's top player in the men's game. 


The Republic of Ireland captain cast his vote for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo first while placing FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi second and Barcelona attacker Neymar third. Messi was the runaway winner of the award with 41.33 percent of the vote to help him win his fifth Ballon d'Or award. Ronaldo, the 2014 winner, earned 27.76 percent of the vote while Neymar garnered only 7.86 percent. 


U.S. National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann and USMNT captain Michael Bradley cast first-place votes for Messi. Former Galaxy star and current Guatemalan captain Carlos Ruiz split from the pack, voting for Argentine and FC Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano as his first ballot choice. 


On the women's side, U.S. Women's National Team star Carli Lloyd was named FIFA Women's World Playe of the Year and USWNT head coach Jill Ellis was selected World Coach of the Year for Women's Soccer.
