LA Galaxy top Sports Illustrated's Ambition Rankings | INSIDER

Robbie Keane goal advance in MLS goty competition

The LA Galaxy were ranked as the league's most ambitious club according to Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl

Wahl's rankings take into account a variety of factors including Designated Player signings and general investment across a wide number of platforms including player development, infrastructure, as well as, ticket and sponsorship numbers.

In the Sports Illustrated article, the Galaxy reveal that the team has spent $12 million over the last five years on youth development and have seen a 33% year-over-year increase in their season ticket numbers. Los Angeles also leads the league in television revenue ($5.5 million) and sponsorship dollars, with $22 million in 2016.

The Galaxy's youth program is also the only MLS club to earn a 4.0 rating by U.S. Soccer in 2014 while also possessing the only full developmental system that allows Academy and USL players to train using the same facilities, schedule, and resources as the first team.
