CARSON, Calif. -- Bruce Arena addresses the media after the LA Galaxy's 4-1 win over D.C. United.

Arena's quotes are below.

On Mike Magee:

He didn't do a whole lot we just had to use him because Gio [dos Santos] got hurt so we just had to stick him out there. All seriousness that is the reason why we wanted to bring Mike back here. We think we his a great player that can score goals and we've been very careful with him in preseason and we will continue to be in the beginning of the season and kind of be smart about his minutes and make sure he is completely healthy, and we have him ready to go a great year but I think he kicked it off well tonight.

On tonight's game:

Conceding a goal 4 minutes in is not easy. I thought DC United did a good job being organized and getting numbers behind the ball and making things difficult for us in the first half but having said that we still played ok in the first half. We obviously had to get a goal and get ourselves back in the game in the early part of the second half, and I think we did that.

On tonight's result:

I think it's a good kind of win for us, we had to come from behind, dig a little bit, work really hard. We got a nice blend of experience. We have enough guys that can settle everyone down and keep their composure; it's a good balance. I think you see the experience that Nigel [de Jong] brings in the midfield, that Ashley [Cole] brings in the back. Bringing in a goalkeeper in the first half is highly unusual, and we dealt with some issues and overcame them, so I think it's a real good win for our team.

On Sebastian Lletget's showing:

I thought that he was very good. He's a beast physically and he gave us a terrific 80 minutes. If it wasn't for the change of the goalkeeper and the change at halftime, we would have tried to limit him to 60 minutes tonight. He did a great job, he was a handful for D.C. United tonight. Obviously, getting him healthy is a benefit.

On Daniel Steres' performance:

He played very well. He played a number of games for us in preseason and we didn't hesitate to use him tonight. He's done well, but I thought he had a really good performance and a big goal for us as well.
