CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos is set to return to the field for the LA Galaxy when they take on the Portland Timbers at StubHub Center on Sunday.
Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena confirmed to reporters that the 26-year-old Mexican international will be available for selection when Los Angeles hosts the reigning MLS Cup champions. Dos Santos has missed the club’s last four matches with a left leg injury.
“I expect him to be available,” Arena said after training on Friday.
Dos Santos’ availability should present Arena with a multitude of choices up front as the Galaxy will also likely welcome back Gyasi Zardes to the starting lineup after he started the team’s scoreless draw with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on the bench to rest after international duty.
