Curt Onalfo says LA Galaxy II must learn to stop conceding late goals | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy II remain undefeated in 2016, but the team’s habit of letting leads slip in the second half is cause for concern from head coach Curt Onalfo.

Los Dos let another lead slip last week when they played Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 to a 2-2 stalemate thanks to a pair of second-half goals from the visitors. The result was the third straight match where Galaxy II dropped points following a late goal.

Despite the difficulties in recent weeks, the Galaxy II boss believes his young squad will learn from their recent errors.

“That’s what the project is for. It’s for young players to be in situations where you’ve got to get better in those situations," Onalfo said after the draw against Vancouver. "But in this case, you’ve got to put the ball in the back of the net, make it 3-0 and the game’s done. That’s all part of the development of a young group.”
