CARSON, Calif. -- Robbie Keane is getting closer and closer to returning to the field.
The 35-year-old underwent knee surgery last month but is already back on the training field and scoring goals according to an Instagram video he posted on Sunday morning. Keane also took part in practice on Monday as the team prepares for this Saturday's match against Sporting Kansas City.
Whether Keane will be back this week is still up in the air, however, as Bruce Arena seems content to give his captain all the time that he needs to come back fully healthy.
"Keano is back this week," Arena told reporters last Friday. "I think he’s rushing it a little bit. I don’t think he’ll be ready to play next week. He probably needs a few weeks."
