Emmanuel Boateng says being named MLS Player of the Week is a "huge honor" | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy midfielder Emmanuel Boateng was overjoyed to be named MLS Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Boateng notched a goal and two assists in last Saturday’s 5-2 victory over Real Salt Lake leading to his award from the North American Soccer Reporters. The 22-year-old was also named to MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week

"It's fun. It's a huge honor early in the season. I thank everyone that voted, but mostly, I thank every one of my teammates for putting in the right positions," Boateng told reporters on Tuesday. "I'm excited, and hopefully, I can get many more in the future."
