Jack McBean enjoying fast start to the season for LA Galaxy II | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Jack McBean is enjoying a banner start to the 2016 USL campaign and the LA Galaxy II captain is determined not to let his momentum wane.

McBean, 21, is Los Dos’ leading goal scorer at present with five goals in six games, just one shy of his total from a year ago.  Donning the captain’s armband for the first season, McBean has been an integral part of a Galaxy II side that remains undefeated this season.

“I had a good preseason and scored a lot of goals. I demanded more of myself finishing wise. I knew that I could get more goals; it was just a confidence thing,” McBean told LA Galaxy Insider. “Scoring a lot in the preseason really helped and my teammates have been helping a lot which has been good.”

Throughout his strong run of form, the Galaxy Academy product has shown new wrinkles to his game with his ability to not only hold up play but also take on defenders en route to goal.

Given his recent success, just what is different about McBean this year?

“It’s just my confidence,” McBean said. “I’m not an MLS deal anymore and it was good to have an offseason where, not that I wasn’t taking it seriously before, but to really go for it and to get rid of that fear of failing that I kind of had. I just have to keep it going because it is super early in the season and anything can happen.”
