CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos and Steven Gerrard are getting plenty of deserved plaudits after their string of impressive performances for the LA Galaxy, but striker Gyasi Zardes is quietly begun to heat up.
Zardes currently leads the Galaxy goals scored with four strikes this season in seven games. The 25-year-old has scored in two straight games for his longest consecutive scoring streak since the 2014 campaign which saw him notch 16 goals.
“It’s great to be back up top,” Zardes said. “I’m really enjoying it at the moment, I’m trying to find my game and really listen to our captain and the other players that I’m working with up top. … You have to shoot to score. If I have an opening and then I'm just going to try to put my shot on frame.”
