MATCHUPS TO WATCH:
Giovani dos Santos vs. Matt Besler

Dos Santos is quite literally in the best form of his time in MLS, but it won’t be easy to continue that success against Sporting Kansas City. Despite their recent struggles, Kansas City will be eager to halt Dos Santos’ impressive form.

Baggio Husidic vs. Benny Feilhaber

The most important match of the evening will pit the Galaxy’s talented defensive-minded midfielder against the Sporting Kansas City playmaker. If Los Angeles is to steal points from Sporting on the road, Husidic must contain Feilhaber and limit his connections to Kansas City’s forwards

Daniel Steres vs. Dom Dwyer

The former LA Galaxy II captain will have a major test on his hands when he takes on Sporting KC’s English striker. Look for Dwyer to try and exploit any potential lapses in spacing between Steres and Van Damme.

WHAT THEY SAID:

“The atmosphere is incredible. It’s loud and consistent throughout the 90 minutes. But the most difficult thing is that they have a really good team. They’ve got guys who are willing to fight and run, and they’re really well coached. They make it really difficult.”
