Alan Gordon expecting to return to action against San Jose Earthquakes | INSIDER

Alan Gordon

CARSON, Calif. – It’s been a frustrating year for LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon, but the veteran striker is adamant that he’ll make his return to action this weekend in the California Clásico against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Gordon, 34, has battled various ailments this season and made just three appearances after playing in 29 games and scoring seven goals a year ago. The target man has not played since April 10 and missed out on the Galaxy’s 2-2 draw with the Philadelphia Union in Pennsylvania due to the flu last week.

With the Galaxy set to take on the forward’s former club, the Earthquakes, Gordon is expecting to be available for selection and get minutes on Sunday.

“I feel great. I felt good for a while. I just got the flu last week which was unfortunate. It’s been a stop and go season for me to start,” Gordon told LA Galaxy Insider. “I’m looking forward to hopefully getting this season started for me and start helping out the team.”
