Robbie Keane has declared himself fit and ready for action ahead of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2016 opener against Sweden on Monday.

Speaking in Paris ahead of the match, the LA Galaxy captain revealed that he has been in full training for nearly a week and will be available for selection when the Irish face Sweden at Stade de France at 9 am PT.  In preparation for their group stage opener, Keane and the rest of the Irish squad trained at the historic French venue on Sunday morning.

"I've trained the last five or six days. I'm ready and available for selection," Keane told reporters. "It's been a great few weeks of training. Everyone is ready to go."

If given the opportunity to suit up for his nation, Keane is confident that he can make a positive impact for the Boys in Green.

'There are certainly goals left in me; there's no question about that. I've been doing it since I was 17 years of age, and I've continued to do it, and I have been consistent in doing that, so there's no question about that," Keane said. "I'm fairly confident in my ability when given the opportunity. First and foremost, I'll do my best for the team, but if there's a chance there, hopefully, I'll take it.'
