CARSON, Calif. – Jack McBean made an impressive return to the LA Galaxy first team during the club’s 4-1 victory over La Máquina FC on Wednesday.

The Galaxy II striker went 29 minutes in the win, making his first appearance for the Galaxy proper since Oct. 2013. McBean, who leads USL in goals scored with 11 this season, did not look out of sorts as he repeatedly threatened the La Máquina defense during his brief shift.

The 21-year-old nearly found the back of the net in the latter stages of the second half when his right-footed shot sailed wide of the net.

“I thought Jack McBean’s 60 minutes were excellent,” said Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena.

Added midfielder Baggio Husidic, “He was great. He was really good holding the ball; he’s just gotten miles better over the last couple of years. Great player.”
